We wanted to take a moment to share the beautiful story of a wonderful man with a huge heart and a pup who just wanted to be loved!
Meet Chanel and Doug! ❤️
When Chanel came to the Cape Breton SPCA, she was in rough shape. Very underweight, terrified of new people (especially men), nervous of touch and unsure how to recieve love. She spent several months in the shelter, with almost no interest at all. Due to her timidness, she required multiple meet and greets to create trust and help her build her confidence. A lot of people were not ready to commit to that many meet and greets... until Doug!
Doug was committed to that sweet gal from the moment he met her. He returned every single day for 3 weeks to take her for a walk, spend time with her and build that bond. She stole his heart and he stole hers! She started off very nervous but each day grew closer and closer to him. Walking beside him instead of behind him, approaching him for pats and eventually, she was ready to cuddle up for a hug and even gave some kisses! Finally, on day 90 of shelter life, Chanel went home!
Today, Chanel is THRIVING! Living her absolute best life with her new dad and getting more confident every day. She now spends her days going to the dog park to make new friends, cuddled up with Doug watching TV and getting all the love she has ALWAYS deserved. A big thank you to Doug for giving this darling girl such a loving and safe home. Truly, a perfect match! ❤️
