Deceased Personal Pets
MCAS does not offer pickup for personal pets, but the following resources are available for end-of-life services and cremation.
Oregon Humane Society: End-of-life services, including euthanasia and cremation fees vary from $14 - $231. If euthanasia services are needed in addition to cremation services please call (503) 285-7722 to schedule an appointment. Dove Lewis: Compassionate Euthanasia is available, appointments are needed which can be made through dovelewis.org. Financial Aid is available for qualifying individuals, to apply for financial aid visit the website. Family Animal Services: Communal cremation services range from $40 to $100 depending on your animal's weight. With a communal cremation your pets ashes will not be returned.Deceased Animals and Wildlife on Public Property
(For removal of deceased animals, please call us at (503) 988-7387 during normal business hours to file a report or use the link below to make an online report requesting a Deceased Animal Pickup. Animal Control Officers will only remove deceased domesticated animals from public property. All cats and dogs will be scanned for a microchip so that owners can be contacted.
Officers are unable to pick up deceased animals from private property. We encourage finders to be as specific as possible to where the animal is located in their report. Please provide any useful information in the report such as if the animal is covered with a blanket or located under a bush.
For Wildlife removal Multnomah County contracts with an outside agency to retrieve the deceased wildlife. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for the deceased wildlife to be removed. If you would like a faster response, community members are permitted to dispose of small deceased wildlife in their garbage.

Rabbits
If you find a deceased rabbit, please report it directly to the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA), who are currently tracking and preventing the spread of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus 2 (RHDV2). Please call 1-800-347-7028 or visit https://oda.direct/RHD to report domestic or wild rabbits which are suspected to have died from RHDV2.
