英国年度野生动物摄影大赛颁奖，总冠军作品是一群蜜蜂？！
英国自然历史博物馆颁布了2022年野生动物摄影大赛的获奖作品。
Now, the winners of 2022’s contest, organised by the museum, have been announced.
现在，由博物馆组织的 2022 年比赛获胜者公布。
US photographer Karine Aigner won the overall prize for her image of a buzzing ball of cactus bees spinning over hot sand on a Texas ranch.
美国摄影师卡琳·艾格纳（Karine Aigner）凭借在德克萨斯牧场上旋转的仙人掌蜜蜂嗡嗡球的形象赢得了总冠军。
All except one of the bees in the close-up are males, who are intent on mating with the single female at the centre.
Like most bees, they are threatened by habitat loss, pesticides and climate change, as well as farming practices that disrupt their nesting grounds.
The image was praised for its ‘sense of movement and intensity’ by the judges, with Ms Aigner the fifth woman in the competition’s 58-year history to claim the grand title award.

This photo already received attention outside of the competition for its unusual portrayal of polar bears outside of their usual snowy landscape.
They are pictured here at an abandoned weather station on Kolyuchin Island in the Chukchi Sea – with bears now more likely to leave their usual habitats due to the changing climate.

They were among 38,575 entries from 93 countries which were judged on their originality, narrative, technical excellence and ethical practice.

These images demonstrate their awe of and appreciation for the natural world and the urgent need to take action to protect it.
