The main objec- tive of the project is to encourage people to care about the environment and culture in campuses through birds. Stu- dents are invited to pay more attention to birds and keep records of them on their campus. The bird records will be uploaded to the website of the China Birding Record Cen- ter and the list of species seen will be announced every May. This activity is coordinated by the Beijing Bird Watch- ing Society. With the permission of the municipal government, Qinghuangdao Bird Watching Society registered success- fully on 21st December, 2006. The objectives of the society are to protect birds and their habitats so as to benefit both people and wildlife, and it already has more than 100 members.
