Japan Animal Medical Center was established in 1966. We have been serving the central Tokyo Metropolitan Area for nearly half a century.

Medical Care For Every Life Stage

We serve four roles:

1 A primary-care clinic offering preventative medicine and other general support.
2 An emergency hospital with 24-hour nursing.
3 A referral hospital offering advanced veterinary care and expertise.
4 A shelter clinic supporting adoption and rehoming efforts.

We use a digital medical record system which allows us to quickly access and share medical information within our main clinic and across all our branches.

In addition, we hold daily team meetings to discuss medical cases and continuously improve our hospitality and quality of care.

We practice team-based medical care that values different perspectives and collaboration. Each team consists of veterinarians, nurses, medical concierges and groomers who strive together to attend not only to the conditions of our patients, but also to the unique circumstances and needs of the patients’ families.

Our goal is to create a place where families can feel safe and supported at every stage of their pet’s life.

Emergency Service

We offer afterhours services including urgent walk-in consultations, emergency surgeries, as well as around-the-clock critical care for the hospitalized patients.

Having staff on site 24/7 enables us to provide a smoother, more comprehensive care that is gentler for the patients in many cases. Following the initial stabilization, the patients can be closely monitored in our ICU and undergo further diagnostics over the ensuing days without needing to be transferred elsewhere (excluding MRI and certain other tests). Furthermore, depending on the urgency and surgeon availability, some procedures and surgeries can be promptly performed during the night hours without needing to wait for the following morning.

Please be aware that extra charges will be added to the consultation fee during after-hours.

Appointed reservations are available from 9:00-13:00 & 16:00-20:00
Emergency care is available 24/7

Waiting time will be longer during the night time due to fewer staff numbers Every Wednesday afternoon and night we are closed for non-emergency cases. Appointments

First-time visitors: Appointments are accepted by phone only.

Returning visitors (with a patient record): Appointments can be made by phone or online.

Directions By Subway

Keio Shinsen Line Hatagaya Station
Take the stairs on the right hand side of the ticket gate for the north exit.
Turn left and walk approximately 50 meters and take another left at the taiyaki shop.
Walk through the shopping avenue and cross the street.
Turn right at the Mini-stop and walk straight for 150 meters and you will find our hospital on the left hand side.

By Bus

Keio Bus Honmachi Icchome Station

From Nakano Station
Take the Shinjuku Nishiguchi(West exit) destined bus from bus stop No. 45
It will be a 20-30 minute ride.
Walk approximately 100 meters to the direction you came from, and our hospital will be on the right hand side. From Shinjuku Station
Take the Nakano Station / Nakano Shako destined bus from bus stop No. 20
It will be a 10-15 minute ride.
Cross the street and you will see our hospital approximately 50 meters ahead of you. By Car

We are located on Route 431, with 11 parking spaces.

From Yamate Street
Turn west at the Nishi-Shinjuku 4-chome intersection and drive approximately 800 meters and you will see us on the right hand side. From Nakano Street
Turn east. At the Sasazuka Shucchojo Mae intersection, turn towards Shinjuku and continue for 1km. You will see us on your left. From Metropolitan Expressway No.4 Shinjuku Route, Koshukaido
Turn north at the intersection with Yamate Street. At the next traffic light (the Nishi-Shinjuku 4-chome intersection), turn left and continue for 800 meters. You will see us on your right.
